one of my Chinese new year dresses (:

went shopping with my friends yesterday at Bugis (:
i bought a pair of white heels, a white belt and tube..
everything i bought was white! =X

we also went to buy a laptop screen protector at Sim Lim square.. ^^
after that we went to have herbal-ly deserts nearby..

pretty bitter-sweet to gulp! =X

my 18th birthday celebration! xD

all planned out by Aiken baby ^^

this year, i turn 18 (:
18 is one significant number..
it means i'm 1 step closer to being independent..
not too sure if i'm ready for that.. =X

so many wonderful things happened on my birthday! xD
1. i won a cash prize from Class 95 FM! ^^
2. Aiken brought me on a harbour cruise and we went sailing from 10 am to 1 pm..
it was a memorable experience!

Vivocity outing (:

yesterday Aiken & i went to Vivo for a date (:
we bought BK take-away and sat on the rooftop area looking out to Sentosa..
we could also see SuperStar Virgo from where we sat!
i really wanna go onto a cruise ship next time! =X

there was this really big and sparkly tree at the rooftop of Vivo too..
so we took some pictures of it (:

Aiken is back to join another company managing container ships instead of tankers.. (:

look into the future..

when you look into the future, what do you see..?
for the both of us, we see ourselves getting married, having 2 children (or more) and spending the rest of our lives together..

for the past few months, we came across quite a number of friends getting married and also a number of wedding services that really interests us.. (:

here are the main 2 services:

this is a Taiwan-based wedding photo shoot studio (:
what i like about this studio is that couples get to fly over to Taiwan for 4 days to have the photo shoot at different scenery and also have free time to walk the famous night markets such as 士林夜市!
the price rates are currently at NT$43600 (below S$2000) and the photos are really amazing (:

they provide videography services on the actual day of wedding..

last saturday, Aiken & i went over to Eunice's house after cell group meeting..
she came back from Japan le! xD
& she bought me Melon bread!
*YAYS*

oops.. i ate it up =X

she also bought me a kawaii pencil case (:

after that, Aiken & i took a cab down to Paya Lebar for his service..
thank God we were not late xD

on sunday evening, i went to the explanade with Eunice to catch..

monday was my slack day..
on tuesday afternoon, i made my way down to Tampines to meet with Song Lei, Leek Key & Tian Tian to go to our class chalet.. (:

when we reached the chalet, most of our friends were still out..
so we went to explore the area together with Phwe Phwe..
& we were really amazed with what view we found (:

mid-autumn fun & more! (:

i woke up this morning with a pleasant surprise! xD
i can finally call through to Aiken!
& when he picked up, he told me he's going to be in Singapore for around 3 days!
YAYS!
he's requesting for 3 days of shore leave, i'm praying hard that it'll be granted!
because he'll be able to come & fetch me home tonight.. =X

today is a really happy, happy day..
& it's also the last day of my attachments! xD
WOOHOO!
we're going to have ice-cream treat& paper cranes given out!
i can't wait!

last week was mid-autumn (:
my family had a steamboat to celebrate the occasion on Sunday night..
after which, i accompanied my brother to the playground to play with the sparklers =D
he was the one who played with the candles..

this past week hasn't been easy for me.. =(
since Aiken's bill came last Saturday, we decided to cut down on our sms & talktime..
& all i could do (even till now) was sms him..
this posting at IMH has also been pretty draining both mentally & financially..
but thank God it all ends this friday with a little celebration in the ward (:

my deepest desire now is to get a call or even just an sms from Aiken..
ever since he left Indonesia (his previous destination), i have no idea where he's headed to next..
it could be India, Thailand or maybe even Singapore..
but all i want is to hear from him soon..

i still cry at night..
hugging my teddy bear tight & soaking my tears in my pillow..

nursery day!

this has been the most enjoyable posting for me! ^^
being in the delivery ward and the nursery for 2 days made me literally awestruck..
it sure takes a huge amount of sacrifice for the mommy during labour, but the loving look in their eyes when they carry their newborn seems to make them forget about the pain instantly..

today, i was posted to the nursery (:
i got the opportunity to bathe & bottle feed babies!
well, they did cry really loud initially..
but after a bathe, they got all relaxed and alert! ^^
during bottle feeding, the baby i was feeding was staring cutely at me..
*AWW*
i was melting in sweetness! =X

next week, it'll still be pretty fun attending to the mommies (:
hope to be able to follow the lactation consultant around the ward and observe some simple gynaecological procedures too!
it's going to be awesome! ^^

i'm still trying to determine the fastest way to reach IMH..
pretty worried about whether i can get there on time! x(
praying for strength!

but i'm still busy this week..
it's not all that bad, though! =]

this week my friends & i were helping out as First Aiders at the Asian Youth Games (AYG) event! =D
so far i have helped out for 3 days already..
i was at the Athletics & Sailing events! ^^

but i have no idea why they didn't appear after i posted it! x(
well, guess i'll post them on another day..

tomorrow is my last day i'm helping out!
it's going to be a full day event & i heard it's finals too!

Aiken left for his ship yesterday afternoon..
he came back this evening to stay home for the night due to the renovations work on the ship..
he'll still be in Singapore until the 12th, but he'll be on board..

by the way, he just bought a wireless modem to surf the net! =D
hopefully i'll be able to video call him at night when he comes online!
thank God! ^^

as you can see, there's no pictures on my post..
not that i don't want to, but i can't.. =(
well, my computer is about to be re-booted by my dad soon..
i'll upload once my exams are over!

some funny pictures that totally caught my attention! =D

alright, i've got this bad tummy ache thing since last friday..
after seeing the better doctor today (with my mommy & baby this evening), the doctor said i got gastritis..
but i'm feeling a lot better now after taking appropriate medications.. =]
please don't worry about me, okayys?

by the way, the not as good doctor was the one that i consulted at one of the polyclinics this afternoon..
his "diagnosis" gave my mom, Aiken baby & me a really bad shock..
he palpated my right abdomen and said he felt ~~a lump around my gallbladder~~!
then he prescribed me 2 strips of panadol & told me to go for ultrasound scan..

but when i went to the better doctor, he did an ultrasound scan for me & found out that nothing was wrong there!
he even said that that not so good doctor must have palpated so deep until he felt my right kidney or something..
in the end, we all were like "wa lao, that polyclinic doctor so lousy one"..
i totally agree with my mom when she said that polyclinic doctors usually jump to the conclusion on their diagnosis because of "time constraints"..
i think unless i want to take an MC, i would think twice before going to the polyclinics to get treated..
wasted trip..

anyways, the ultrasound scan was quite fun! =D
the doctor scanned my kidneys, liver, bladder & uterus too!
just to let me see.. ^^
but it sure didn't come cheap..
*GASPS*

i thank God that it didn't turn out to be ~~something too serious~~!
& now, i can sleep peacefully without any worries.. =3

Aiken & i were discussing about our future plans today..
we were talking about our 终生大事 (marriage).. =X

we have lots of ideas for our engagement, housing & wedding..
the cost, the location, the gowns & suits..

it'll take us quite a few years to save up..
by the time we finally have the wedding, i'm already around 26!
then again, i'm reaching 20 in less than 2 years time.. =X

anyways, it's really, really dreamy just thinking about it! ^^
after all, it's a once in a lifetime event!
i can already imagine myself wearing a gorgeous gown & tearing during the vow! =X

if you have gotten exceptionally irritable by the slightest things before, you know how i feel right now..
maybe it's just my hormonal imbalance thingy before my menses..
but it definitely drives me crazy every month!

one moment i'm crying & now, i'm pissed..
it's like every thing that i could have tolerated suddenly magnified itself
it's just so irritating!

tomorrow morning, i have a group presentation..
& i don't have any ~~pleasant mood~~ for anything except sleep and my teddy bear..

our new haircut!

it's the second week of year TWO.. =X

this year there's only 5 modules!

*WOOHOO!*

but it's quite boring to have only 5 module throughout the week..

hahas..

i'm currently learning mainly about obstetrics & gynaecology (O&G) and paediatrics..
during the classes, we watched quite a number of bloody videos (seriously) & we even got to feel a real placenta!

since i'm learning all these, my next 2 attachments are going to be at either KKH or NUH..i'll also be posted to IMH & CDC (i think)..

pretty exciting eh? xD

i really pray that this year will go smoothly!

by the way, i forgot to update about Aiken's departure date..

he is still in Singapore & his ship will only arrive in June! =3

we're cherishing this last month together before he sails for a year..

will be adding more details to my new blogskin!

random thoughts..

last thursday, i took bus 61 to Alexandra Hospital for my attachment..
but this time, there was something different about the bus ride..

i was greeted with a smile, & so were everyone else who boarded the bus!

wow..
it actually feels really nice to be greeted with a smile.. ^^
it's just a simple gesture but it kind of pulled me out of being "excessively" caught up with my own things..
it's this spirit that i hope to be able to bring to my patients..

& i wouldn't be too taken aback if more bus captains would do so too =]
